Fraternity Houses Broken Into

Two fraternity houses in State College were evidently entered yesterday and some rooms and cabinets ransacked, Borough police reported today. It was not know what, if anything was missing because the occupants are away for the holidays.

The Theta Chi at 523 S. Allen St. was found by workmen to have an entry door open and investigation showed that several rooms and cabinets had been broken into. The report was received at 12:34 p.m.

At 3:30 p.m., the Alpha Sigma Phi at 328 E. Fairmount Ave. was reported as having been entered and ransacked. Police investigated but made no estimate of loss or damage.

In another illegal entry, an apartment at 600 W. College Ave. was reported entered some time in the past 10 days and $8; in cash and a check from a checkbook stolen. A further check by police showed that other apartments at the address had been tampered with but no additional loss was immediately determined.

In another incident, police received a report today that about 26 bulbs were stolen from an outdoor Christmas display at 618 Glenn Rd. some time last light. Loss was estimated at $10.
