Alumni Appreciation Dinner Wrap-up

On November 6th, the undergraduate brothers held an Alumni Appreciation Dinner at the chapter house for all local alumni.  We had several alumni attend, as well as the Director for Greek Life at Penn State, Dr. Roy Baker, and Richard and Jean Bartnik, Brother Chris Bartnik’s parents.  Undergraduate brothers got to speak with alumni and leaders while enjoying a nice dinner from the Olive Garden.

L to R: Dr. Roy Baker, Joost Keesing, Michael Crawford and Jean Bartnik Alumni Appreciation Dinner

After dinner, Dr. Baker spoke to the chapter about the current status of Greek Life at Penn State, and offered aide to Theta Chi for recruitment.  He said that our chapter is one of the best-kept secrets on campus, and it’s time to get our name out there!  He also said that he would be willing to help us with recruitment in the future in order to attract more great gentlemen to Omega Chapter.

The Bartniks were also honored during the evening.  Mrs. Bartnik has been nominated by the chapter to receive the Mabel Oswaldt Appreciation Award, which is awarded to women who have made a difference within the fraternity.  The chapter is very excited to announce that Mr. Richard Bartnik has accepted a formal bid to become a brother of Theta Chi, Omega Chapter.  He will be initiated with our current undergraduate new member class in December.   We are all very excited to have Mr. Bartnik become a brother in our fraternity!

The chapter would like to thank all alumni and friends who visited the chapter house last Thursday.  We would also like to express our gratitude to the alumni who funded this great event.  We look forward to seeing all of our alumni during the Alumni Work Weekend in the spring!

Fraternally,

James Patterson
Chapter President
