Message from Exec. Dir. Alter - The Rattle, Winter 1976

As appeared in The Rattle - Vol. 62, No. 2 - Winter 1976

By Howard R. Alter, Jr. - Executive Director
Almost every year at this time we remind our membership of Founder’s Day, April 10th. This year he celebration takes on some a significance because of the National’s Bicentennial. While we have not yet attained that prestigious age, the fraternity will in this Bicentennial year celebrate our 120th Anniversary. To mark that date the Grand Chapter will head a 120th Anniversary National Founders’ Day at Norwich, Vermont. The program of the re-enactment of the founding will take place at 11:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, near the site of old South Barracks. It will be followed by a buffet luncheon at the Norwich Inn. For information write or call the Executive Office.

Later that same day of April 10th, Delta Chapter at RPI is hosting “Dusty Day” a special reception and dinner honoring past National President Earl D. Rhodes. Dusty’s many friends in the Fraternity are requested to contact Delta Chapter for further details.

Then, August 25 to 28, 1976 is the 120th Anniversary Convention. It will be held this year at the Konover Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida. We would encourage as many of the undergraduates and alumni that can, to attend all of part of the program. Conventions are biennial, and this is is your chance to see the whole Fraternity at work, and at play.  Mark your Calendar now to join the officers and delegates in Miami Beach. You have heard of the resurgence of Fraternity loyalty and spirit—come witness it. Let us make our 120th in the Bicentennial year, an anniversary to remember.
