On Sept. 24, 2017 all of Penn State made their last canning trips ever for THON (read Daily Collegian story about canceling canning trips). With that in mind the Omega Brothers hit the road with members of Sigma Alpha Sorority to raise money FOR THE KIDS!

Brother Matt Markus won the Open in a one hole playoff with Bob Mausser. As a result of heavy rain we were not permitted to play the scheduled course Avalon Country Club. Not to be deterred we found another course Laguna Oaks that would accommodate us. 15 played golf and 25 attended the banquet
Next year's Open will be played on May 4th, 2018 at Avalon Country Club. As always we will be playing the first Friday in May. We hope to see you next year!
Theta Chi Bothers have been busy on campus and in town this semester.
Brother Ryan Gattoni and Stephen Sandford were part of an effort to create "Little Lion's Pantries". Using the Theta Chi basement, Gattoni, Sandford and other students worked to create small food pantries that will be placed around town. They have both been very involved in working with "The Lion's Pantry" which establishes a way for impoverished students to get free food with no questions asked. Also outside the chapter house brother Ryan Gattoni was once again elected to the IFC Executive Board and VP of Programming. In addition, he was also selected to be on the Executive Board of Fresh Start.
Brother John Broderick is the Lead Program Coordinator for the Sexual Violence Awareness club on campus, Men Against Violence. He has given multiple speeches this year and was recently selected to speak at the University sponsored Sexual Violence Prevention Gala.
Brothers Broderick and Gattoni were in charge of "Walk a Mile in her Shoes", an event where male members of the community (mainly Greeks) wear heels and walk down campus in a showing of solidarity to those who have been sexually assaulted.
Brother Kevin Diguiseppe was selected to be a Greek Week Programming Captain. Brother Neel Parikh was recently chosen to be the Lead Analyst of Exotic Commodities for the Penn State Asset Management Group. Also, Bryant Narvaez was elected to be the Treasurer for the ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America).
And finally, the GI Theta Chi event was very successful and built on last year's event. The chapter raised approximately $1000 for the USO through the event. We will have more info and photos from GI Theta Chi soon.
Over the break a nice new cedar front door was installed to replace the one that had been damaged at the end of the fall semester. Please stop by the house and give the door a try - we'd love to see you when you are in State College.
We are proud to announce 7 new members have been initiated into the brotherhood of Theta Chi. Congratulations to...

With the new semester in full swing, we wanted to update the alumni on the continued upgrades to the house that were completed this past summer. The board moved forward with some long overlooked aesthetic issues and completed a few mandated code compliance directives. We have been lucky to develop a good relationship with Kunes Construction, the contractor that completed the side porch repair, and his company is handling all our work again.
The remaining exterior trim has been repaired and painted, including the cornice work at the top of the house. This now finishes most of the planned major work on the exterior of the building. Finally, a commercial cleaner was hired to do a total top to bottom cleaning of the house, especially the kitchen.
The Borough of State College is always updating their code requirements. This year we were directed to upgrade our old dumpster. The borough has also been targeting sidewalk safety the past couple years, and this summer the district that included our house was on the agenda. We received notice of five concrete segments that we needed to replaced or the borough would do it and bill us. We have completed the required work and added a few areas that were our own concerns.

Welcome to our the newly initiated brothers!
At the beginning of spring, there nothing better than getting outside the house and doing some spring cleaning. The tasks that were completed include mulching the front lawn, trimming the hedges out front, building a new storage shed (along side the house), buffed the wooden floors on the 1st floor of the house and finally cleaned the porch to get it ready for the spring activities.
We like to thank those brothers who came to work weekend and those that lent a helping hand financially. We look forward to seeing more alumni at this year's Blue White/Founder's Day weekend on April 16th and 17th - Don't forget the annual Founder's Day meeting will be held on Sunday at 10:30am at the chapter house.
This year THON raised $9,770,332.32 for Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. Theta Chi and Tapestry raised $33,813.60. Below are some images that our brothers posted on Facebook of their 46 hours at the Bryce Jordan Center during THON. Congrats on all your hard work.
