It is with great sadness that we report the passing of:

George A. Bope Jr. '52 -  passed away on May 2, 2015

Obit:
Age 86, of Ross Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Beloved husband for 62 years of Joan (Curran); loving father of Mark Bope, Duke Bope, and Janet McCloskey (Patrick); proud grandfather of Jack McCloskey; and uncle of Lori Bope Bell; also survived by many relatives and friends. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Athanasius Church, 7 Chalfonte Ave., Pgh., PA 15229 on Friday at 11 a.m., with interment to follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. George proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the US Army 11th Airborne Division. George was also first baseman for the Army baseball team while serving in Japan. He founded his own company, Architectural Clay Products, Inc. in 1960. George really loved the game of golf and valued his many friends that he played with at Highland Country Club for 48 years. As a true patriot, George felt very strongly that the veterans of this country should be recognized, kept in our prayers, and honored for their service, both those who have served and those who are now serving. George was always very grateful to all those who have served. George Bope was a friend.
