Wins Letter as Soph

Charles Anderson in 1929

Charles H. Anderson, Omega ’31, came to State College from Mahaffy, Pennsylvania. He was a basketball star in his local high school, but had not had the opportunity of attempting soccer until entering Penn State. Last year he commenced his soccer career as a freshman under Coach Jeffries. From the very beginning Anderson displayed keen athletic ability, winning his freshman numerals as an outside left in the class scrap. In the past season Anderson, as a sophomore, filled the same position with the varsity for full time in every game and in every extra period, and consistently shared the honors of the results of the stellar playing of Penn State’s brilliant captain, Richard Marshal. Brother Anderson is one of the few sophomores receiving a varsity letter in any sport.
