Omega Fund

Contributions from Alumni to our 48-49 drive total $685.00. This isn't bad - but it certainly isn't good when one considers we have over 500 alumni. Any who have intended and wanted to contribute to this fund have forgotten to do so. We have a number of letters from Brothers who said they would send a check later. If you still want to contribute won't you sit down right now and send us a check - we still need money. Let's get by the $1,000 mark. This is our final appeal and when your checks arrive the drive is over.

Top Dairy Award for Abe Doan

At the recent meeting of the American Dairy Science Association at St. Paul, Minn., a gold medal, symbolizing the highest award in dairy manufacturing circles was presented to Abe Doan. This award to the "year's outstanding scientist in dairy manufacturing of North America" was accompanied by a cash award of one thousand dollars. It's nice to know that Abe has gone so far in his chosen work and we are happy to extend our hearty and sincere congratulations to him.

National Fraternity News

In May we reactivated our chapter at Univ. of North Carolina and are now the only fraternity of more than ten chapters which has no inactive chapters. Chapters were installed at Duke Univ. on April 9; at Drake Univ., Des Moines, Iowa on April 23; at Bradley Univ., Peoria, Ill. on April 30; and at Nebraska Wesleyan on April 30. On the same day we reactivated our chapter at Univ. of Nebraska. We start the new school year with 91 active chapters and with two approved groups waiting to be installed at West Virginia Wesleyan and College of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Wn. Our chapters are now voting on petitions from groups at Vanderbilt Univ. and at Linfield College, McMinnville, Ore. We have a petition ready to send out from our Colony at Univ. of Georgia. We have a Colony at Colorado A & M and groups which will shortly become colonies at half a dozen other points. The drop in college en-rollment doesn't seem to be materializing and we expect high membership rolls. We now have three traveling secretaries. It looks like another good year for Theta Chi.

Prospects

The chapter needs your help in Rushing. Send them name and other information on boys who will go to Penn State this year.

Chapter House

Those who attended Alumni Day last spring were pleased with the appearance of the house. There were new rugs, new furniture, and new drapes, and the floors had been refinished and the house had been painted inside and out. Much of the work was done by the undergraduates and we owe them our thanks for the interest they took and the many hours of work they gave.

Swan Song

As we again step aside to let someome else handle the reins, we want to express our sincere appreciation to all, Alumni and Actives, who helped so generously in many ways during the past two years. We are particularly thankful for the fine spirit and interest and for the grand cooperation shown by so many. Let's continue to make the Omega Alumni Corporation one of the most active in the Fraternity. Our best wishes to tee new officers

George W, Chapman

Thank you to all those brothers that shared their news.
