OX: Why
did you join Theta Chi?
Rick James: Got lost on the way to SAE. Nah seriously
it turned out to be a bunch of guys that were down to earth and had
a lot of fun. Scooter and I lived in the same dorm and had to find
a way out of the dorm life. The guys at the house reminded me of some
of the gang back home that I grew up with.
OX: Tell
us your favorite Theta Chi Story?
RJ: Got lost
on the way to SAE. Nah seriously it turned out to be a bunch of guys

OX: What Influences
did OX have on you??
RJ: Never trust a Phi Sigma Kappa.
OX: What is your nickname?
How did you get it?
RJ: RJ - Not sure how anyone came up with it. The
idea probably came from a session in Brother Brown and Brother Al's
room.
OX: Who were your roommates?
RJ: Scott 'Scooter' Taylor, Bob Miller, Chris Heidrick,
and Mike Carbaugh. Seeing Scooter any time before 10 am will make
you go blind. Literally.
OX: Any Pledge trip
stories? Where?
RJ: Only thing I can remember is cutting down the
nets at Maryland's BB stadium. Most of the trip was pretty much a blur
thanks to Kidda.
OX: With whom do you
stay in contact?
RJ: Been out of touch for quite some time.
OX: Any brother you
are looking to contact?
RJ: Not sure what all the guys from Fall '85 are doing
these days...
OX: What other activities
or organizations were you involved with during your college days?
RJ: Lifeguard and Skiing.
OX: Tell us about
your family. Have you married? Do you have children?
RJ: Married Laurene Carter in '95. Currently
I have 2 daughters and one son. Ryan's 10 years old. Emily is
8. And Carlye is 3. Two labs.
OX: What do you do for
a living?
RJ: Manage Quality for a couple plants for a Swiss
Flavor Company. If you eat or drink something, we probably have
a flavor in it
OX: What do you do with
your free time?
RJ: Fish, Bike, shoot, read.
OX: What are your
goals for the next few years?
RJ: Enjoy the time with my kids and travel.
