OX: Why
did you join Theta Chi? Mark Lynch: Because my brother was a Theta Chi at Maryland,
so I went out to meet the guys at Omega. Wanted place to hang out socially.
OX: Tell us your favorite
OX story? ML: Fun times hanging out with my pledge brothers -
Jim 'Rodent' Stuhltrager '89, David Latham '89, Greg Hotsenpiller '87
and Richard Maltz '90 - Tom Strauss '87 and Adam Swarts '85 heavy metal
- Hazy times with James 'JD' Derrah '87, Joseph Kidda '88 and Michael
Noble '91.
OX:
What Influences did OX have on you?? ML: Looking back, I wished I spent more time getting
to know people and concentrating on grades instead of partying so hard
- but those were fun times.
OX:
What is your nickname? How did you get it? ML: Gremlin - I could cause trouble in any environment.
OX:
Who were your roommates? ML: Roommates were Kidda, Rodent and Greg Allan
'89 in the house. Lived with Chris Thomson '89 and Rodent on College
Ave - our rooms always seem filled with people looking to have a
good time.
OX:
Any Pledge trip stories? Where? ML: Pledge Bolt to UVA and UMD - UVA girls were the
prettiest I've ever seen. The RV trip was a blast and something about
a stolen jeep left on Congress.
OX:
With whom do you stay in contact? ML: When I lived in NYC, Maltz, John 'Stags' Stagliano
'87 and Noble. Since moving to FL, began reaching out to Greg Allen
but lost touch with most.
OX:
Any brother you are looking to contact? ML: Love to hear how my pledge brothers are all doing
as well as Kidda, Noble, Tom & Adam, Thomson, JD, Stags, Timothy
Paulson '86 and others from the Philly group.
OX:
What other activities or organizations were you involved with during
your college days? ML: Freshman soccer, IFC Council - Leo Sugg '88 got
us involved but it was just a way to get in any party for me.
OX: Tell us about
your family. Have you married? Do you have children? ML: Married my wife Barbara in 1997 in New Orleans
where we met. No children - two cats Token and Tweek (Southpark names).
OX: What do you
do for a living? ML: Consultant - primarily finance, accounting and
strategic planning - was involved in the sports and entertainment
areas in NYC for 6-7 years.
OX: What do you
do with your free time? ML: Golf, Beach, Watch sports, Hang out with friends
here in the Tampa Bay area.
OX: What are your
current goals? ML: Career wise, I will eventually join a firm in
a senior finance role as I enjoy the camaraderie involved inside
an organization, instead of as a consultant. Life wise, enjoy time
with my wife, friends and family.
OX:
Involved with any organizations now? ML: Financial Executive Institute, St. Petersburg
Chamber of Commerce, Feathersound Country Club.
